A fluffy post

If I had unlimited funds (which I don't), I would shop at Anthropologie. Their catalogue alone is enough to inspire me - it is so well designed. And it spurs my random dreams of designing clothes. :-) But frankly, I have so many random dreams of designing so much that I hardly put stock into any of them. Just a glimpse here and there. The most I'm casually hoping for is perhaps one day owning a shirt or two from them. Yes, this is a very fluffy post, but hey - it's Friday .:-)

Rare foray

A tastefully done video.

1.26.2009

I'm tired today. But the weather is also dreary and lends me to feelings of weariness. I have much homework and grading awaiting me. I've been missing several of my friends and wishing I had a car. In the past, I would just rise up and take some crazy road trip to catch up with my dear girls. Close to a year has past now, since seeing some of them, four years in other cases...and it gets harder as they spread out more. February is approaching and its always my least favorite month so I'm not filled with anticipation. I wish I could just skip it and get to March. But I can't, so I'll just buckle in and hunker down. This post is not very cheery is it? :-]

stationary and scripture

I am a sucker for stationary. Unfortunately, my address book is at least 200 strong thus the frequency of my correspondence to any one person is inadequate. If I had an endless supply of time and resources, these would be my favorite objects of continual letter writing. And if I had my own letterpress...well, besides the gloriousness of that thought, I'd probably have no idea how to operate it! :-] The pictures are linked to their sellers.

I've been reading I John 1 recently and it's been really meaningful to me, especially verses 6-9. It clearly states in those passages that my responsibility is practicing the truth and confessing my sins while God's responsibility is forgiving me and cleansing me of it. An important distinction is here: previously, I have taken upon myself the responsibility of cleansing myself from sin and wondering at my own inability. But I am not to attempt self-cleansing. I am to be honest that I've sinned [confess] and leave the cleansing up to Him. Further, if I desire fellowship with God, I cannot be walking in darkness. How I act [practice the truth] facilitates deeper fellowship with Him. Such a simple concept which needed to be re-realized.
